Aziz Ansari announces Royal Albert Hall gig

One-off date in July

American comedian Aziz Ansari has announced a date at London's Royal Albert Hall on July 11.

Ansari co-created and starred in the Netflix series Master Of None, winning two Emmy awards for comedy writing. He has also received Emmy and DGA award nominations for directing.

The comedian recently released the film Good Fortune, which he wrote, directed and starred in alongside Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen. He previously appeared in the NBC comedy Parks and Recreation.

In 2018, Ansari was accused of sexual misconduct by a woman who described an uncomfortable date in an article on the website Babe. Ansari responded with a statement saying that he believed the encounter was consensual but apologised that the woman felt differently. He later addressed the incident in his 2019 Netflix special Right Now which received a Grammy nomination. His latest special, Nightclub Comedian, is currently streaming on Netflix.

Tickets for the London gig go on sale at 10am on Friday.
