Michelle Collins to appear in Morecambe and Wise tribute
West End show to mark duo's 100th birthdays
Michelle Collins is joining a West End celebration of comedy legends Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise.
The former EastEnders actor will be a special guest in a performance of Eric & Ern at the Garrick Theatre on March 29 marking what would have been their 100th birthdays.
'I'm absolutely thrilled,' Collins said. 'Eric and Ern are true icons of British entertainment, and to be part of a show honouring their legacy is a real privilege. It's a wonderful way to celebrate comedy that has brought joy to generations.'
The show recreates the era when families gathered around their televisions to watch the pair's Christmas specials, featuring sketches including Grieg's piano concerto and the 'Arsenal!' routine, along with songs and a musical guest spot.
Created by Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens – who were nominated for an Olivier award for their previous Morecambe and Wise show – Eric & Ern is currently playing at Curve in Leicester until tomorrow.

After Leicester, the production visits the Lowry in Salford from March 24 to 28 before the London performance. A final show is planned for Morecambe Winter Gardens on 16 May, coinciding with Eric Morecambe's birthday weekend.
The show is based on material written by Eddie Braben and is suitable for audiences aged eight and over.
Morecambe would have turned 100 on May 14 and Wise would have reached the milestone on November 27 last year.
