Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis is to host Have I Got News For You for the first time.

Producers have announced that the consumer champion will be in the hotseat on Friday April 26.

He said: ‘I’ve been a fan of the show since it started, just after I left school, but can't pretend there isn't a tinge of terror mixed in with excitement at the thought of presenting it, especially trying to keep Paul and Ian in line. I may have to resort to threatening to destroy their credit scores.’

Spanish and Welsh comedian Ignacio Lopez will be returning in the same episode, having made his first appearance on the last series. The other panellist has yet to be named.

It has also been announced that Jo Brand will be a panellist on the April 19 edition alongside guest host Alexander Armstrong. 

They are the two people with the most guest appearances on HIGNFY, but the first time they have been in the same episode.

This Friday’s show sees the comedian and anaesthetist Ed Patrick making his first appearance on the show, and stand-up Zoe Lyons making her sixth.
