Comedy comes to London's Park Theatre

New season gets under way

Park Theatre in Finsbury Park, North London, has announced a new series of comedy shows.

The line-up includes solo shows, works-in-progress  and mixed bills in Park Laughs Sundays, booked by Peter Grahame of Downstairs At The King’s Head.

Julia Masli’s acclaimed Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha (pictured) kicks off the season, which includes the likes of Sara Barron, Rob Auton, Iain Stirling, Thanyia Moore and Robin Ince.

The programme has been introduced by new executive director Catherine McKinney,  who previously worked at Soho Theatre.

She said: ‘Park Theatre has two beautiful performance spaces, and it’s exciting to open them up for more shows alongside our fantastic theatre programme, and to broader audiences.’

And Grahame said of the monthly line-up gigs he is putting together: ‘I’m very pleased be working alongside the good folks at the Park Theatre to recreate the buzz and value of the early days of variety comedy shows in the legendary Crouch End venue.

‘All shows take place in the Park Theatre’s main house on and around whatever set is up at the time. (The first show will be in a Korean family-run convenience store!). The aim is for a night of top-notch comedy in a relaxed and comfortable venue.’
