Alex Edelman's Just For Us heads to Broadway

Eight week run for Jewish comic's show about meeting racists

Alex Edelman is to perform his one-man stand-up show Just For Us on Broadway.

The comedian has been booked for an eight-week run at New York’s 970-capacity Hudson Theater, staring on June 22.

His show tells of how Edelman – who grew up in an Orthodox Jewish family –  infiltrated a meeting of white nationalists in Queens.

The show was first performed in 2018 at the Melbourne International Comedy festival and the Edinburgh Fringe.

It has had several off-Broadway runs produced by Mike Birbiglia, where it attracted celebrities such as Steve Martin, Jerry Seinfeld, Ben Stiller, Billy Crystal and Sarah Jessica Parker to the audience – and ran at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory for two weeks in January this year.

Edelman tweeted that being booked for a Broadway run was ‘The best and most surreal experience of my life. Could not be more excited and nervous and everything everything everything.’
