The Goldbergs renewed for series 10

1980s set US sitcom returning later this year

Eighties-based sitcom The Goldbergs is to return for 10th season.

American broadcaster ABC has renewed the family comedy to air as part of the 2022-23 season.

The ninth season averaged 3.22 million viewers per episode, down eight per cent on the previous run. The second series, in 2014, averaged 8.3million.

E4 is currently rerunning the first series, with the all but the last season available on All4.

Loosely based on the experiences of series creator Adam Goldberg, the show’s stars include Wendi McLendon-Covey, Sean Giambrone and the voice of Patton Oswalt.  The last series paid tribute to George Segal, who was a series regular as Pops until his death last year, and was also the last to feature Curb Your Enthusiasm’s Jeff Garlin.
