Acting accolades for Apple TV+ comedy

Ted Lasso was a double winner at the Screen Actors Guild awards in Los Angeles last night.

The cast of the Apple TV+ show won the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, beating fellow nominees The Great, Hacks, The Kominsky Method and Only Murders in the Building.

Meanwhile, star Jason Sudeikis won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in the same category, edging out co-star Brett Goldstein.

Also nominated were Michael Douglas for The Kominsky Method and Steve Martin and Martin Short for  Only Murders in the Building.

And Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series went to Jean Smart for  Hacks.

Ted Lasso stars Juno Temple and Hannah Waddingham had also been up for the award alongside Elle Fanning for The Great and Sandra Oh for The Chair.

Helen Mirren was honoured with the SAG Life Achievement Award
