New executive appointed to Lucky 17

Lucky 17, the production company spun out of comedy agency UTC, has appointed a new executive to develop its own scripted shows.

Eleanor Lawrence, formerly a writer on Amazon’s Flack and Sky Atlantic’s Sunshine Simon, will also be a partner in the firm.

The company was set up by David Geli and Polyanna McGirr,  who also run the agency UTC Artist Management, representing acts including Mo Gilligan, Dane Baptiste, Tez Ilyas and Russell Hicks.

Lucky 17 previously oversaw project for UTC projects including Gilligan’s Netflix special, Momentum.

Geli is also manager of Up The Creek comedy club in Greenwich, South London, which gives the company its name.

Lawrence said: ‘I am absolutely thrilled to be heading up the scripted department at Lucky 17, especially during such an exciting time for emerging talent. As a partner in this next generation company, we are fully committed to and passionate about nurturing untold stories from conception to fruition and beyond.’
