Police interrogation series to return

Sharon Horgan has joined the cast of Netflix thriller Criminal.

The Catastrophe star will appear alongside  Kit Harington from Game of Thrones  and The Big Bang Theory’s Kunal Nayyar in the second season of the drama.

The show, set entirely in a police interrogation suite, was created by Killing Eve writer George Kay and Wrong Mans director Jim Field Smith.

Season two lands on the streaming service on September 16.

It has also been revealed that Horgan  will play Nicolas Cage’s ex-wife in the new action comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

In the film, Cage stars as a fictionalised version of himself who’s  facing financial ruin, leading him to accept a $1million offer to attend the birthday of a super fan. The movie is due out in March next year.

• In other US casting news Doctor Who sidekick and Jumanji star Karen Gillan is to appear alongside US comedian Awkwafina in the new Amazon Prime comedy thriller Shelly.  Awkwafina plays a cold-hearted hitwoman and Gillan her former high school tormentor.
