Just For Laughs pulls its Toronto comedy festival

Covid-19 'leaves us with no alternative'

Just For Laughs have pulled this year's JFL42 comedy festival due to be held in Toronto.

The event should have taken place from September 24 to October 3, with Trevor Noah as the headline name.

In a statement, the organisers said: 'Due to the many impacts and unpredictable nature of Covid-19, and the amount of planning that goes into organizing this festival in advance, the current situation and conditions leave us no alternative as we are increasingly getting closer to the planned dates.

'We had hoped for a different outcome and are so disappointed.'

The event, which began in 2012, tis now set to return on September 23 - with Noah again returing.
