'Thank you' gig as comedy support fund nears £100k
Comedy streaming service NextUp is hosting a gala this weekend as a 'thank you' to supporters who have contributed nearly £100,000 to a fund to help comedians who can't work during lockdown.
The event will be hosted by Richard Herring, and feature Adam Buxton, Mark Watson, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Tom Rosenthal and Yuriko Kotani among others.
The gig will take place at 7pm on Saturday here
NextUp producer Tom Brandt said: ‘The response from both inside and outside the industry has been astounding, and has made a huge and tangible difference. We’ve been able to help hundreds of comics stay afloat in what has been an unparalleled time of hardship.
'This has only been possible due to the generosity of the industry, both financially and with their time and we could not be more grateful for their support. We’re going out with a bang and marking the end of the campaign with something special, we hope people enjoy it.'
