Comedy Central exec moves on

Lucy Robinson joins Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s indie

Comedy Central’s head of original content Lucy Robinson is leaving the broadcaster to join Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s company Stolen Picture.

She will become an executive producer at the indie, trade website Broadcast revealed, and she described the move as ‘a dream come true’.

Robinson said the company has launched ‘an ambitious, genre-busting slate that combines sci-fi, thriller, horror and comedy, all laced with their distinctive, anarchic spirit’.

Her departure comes four months after  Comedy Central announced it had stopped commissioning new shows, in what it said was a temporary move. It recently launched the sports challenges show Gods Of The Game, which was ordered last summer.

In other industry news, Famalam executive producer Ben Caudell has moved from BBC Studio’s comedy unit to the  commissioning side, as maternity cover for Alex Moody.
