Comic helps storyboard 25 episodes

Comedian Laurence Clarke has joined the writing team for Coronation Street.

The stand-up helped storyline a batch of 20 to 25 episodes of the ITV soap, set to air from Boxing Day.

Clarke, who has cerebral palsy, is on tour with his latest show An Irresponsible Father's Guide To Parenting and last year wrote a play about a ‘wheelchair-using scally’ on a trip to Lourdes.

An ITV spokesperson confirmed that Clarke ‘would have been involved in story-lining and story-boarding a block of episodes’ as part of his stint on the show.
