Aberdeen comedy festival announces its 2019 line-up

Led by Paul Sinha

The Aberdeen International Comedy Festival has announced its full programme.

Paul Sinha leads the big names joining the festival, having previously pulled out of the Edinburgh Fringe following his Parkinson’s diagnosis.

He will bring his new show Hazy Little Thing Called Love to the Park Inn on Friday October 11.

The comic and Chase star said: ‘Aberdeen remains the furthest I have travelled within the UK to perform comedy, and I am delighted to make a return. Any city obsessed with both Britain in Bloom and the 1983 Cup Winner's Cup is fine by me."

Also added to the line-up are what the festival calls ‘leading ladies’: Janey Godley, Ashley Storrie, JoJo Sutherland, Harriet Kemsley, Catherine Bohart, Megan Shandley, Lou Sanders and Vikki Ston

The festival comprises 17 shows over 11 days from Thursday October  3. For more information  and to buy tickets, visit www.aberdeencomedyfestival.com

Today's comedy-on demand picks

Emma Sidi has taken great care to replicate the authentic feel of 1980s Spanish-language telenovelas in this spot-on parody, set in contemporary small-town England and which she describes as 'a bit Acorn Antiques, bit Garth Marenghi'.

At her mother's untimely funeral, Becky Hello (a typical British millennial as imagined by Mexican writers who have never been to the UK) discovers she has inherited a fortune. But it isn't long before nefarious family members begin to circle, and Becky must keep her wits about her if she is to avoid the same fate as her mother.
