'Prepare for a gentle roasting'

Mo Gilligan is to host this year’s Edinburgh TV Awards, it has been announced today.

The awards, now in their 18th year, will be announced on Thursday August 22, during the city’s TV festival.

Kelly Webb-Lamb, advisory chair of the festival, said: ‘Mo’s the funniest man around - a breakthrough talent with quick-fire wit, buckets of charisma and skinny jeans to boot. 

‘There’s no-one better to host this year’s awards. Prepare for a gentle roasting and not-so-gentle rib ache.’
