And another children's book from David Walliams

Boogie Bear out next month

David Walliams has announced his fifth picture book with illustrator Tony Ross.

Boogie Bear will be published on November 16 – two weeks after his tenth book Bad Dad, about a boy who tries to break his dad out of prison. That, too, is illustrated by Ross.

Boogie Bear is about a polar bear who she nods off and finds herself far from home, and is described as ‘an outrageously funny picture book with an incredibly heartwarming message about celebrating difference in all its forms’.

Walliams said it was his and Ross’s ‘best picture book together’.

Their previous titles include The First Hippo on the Moon and The Queen’s Orang-u-Tan, and between them have sold almost 500,000 copies.

In total Walliams has sold more than 11million books in the ten years he’s been writing for children – sales worth £62million. He said: ‘The success of the books over the last decade has been beyond my wildest dreams.’
