Iain Stirling joins The Traitors US

Comic is among the contestants in next Peacock series

Iain Stirling is swapping Love Island for The Traitors – in America.

The Scottish comic, who made his name commenting on the hit ITV2 dating show, has been unveiled as one of the contestants in the fifth season of the US version.

Alan Cumming hosts the show, which is filmed in the same location in the Scottish Highlands – Ardross Castle – as the British version.

However, the American series always features a celebrity cast, often drawn from other reality shows.

Among the more famous of the 23 contestants in the new series are British Lord of the Rings actor Dominic Monaghan, Wicked star Kristin Chenoweth and drag icon Bianca Del Rio.

Stirling also narrates the US version of Love Island which, like The Traitors, airs on Peacock. He broke the news by posting an image of a chalkboard with his name on it, as used in the crucial round-table sections of the show where contestants try to out the traitors. Stirling captioned it: ‘There’s no turning back now. A new season of #TheTraitorsUS is coming soon to @Peacock. @TheTraitorsUS'

No broadcast date has yet been announced for the new series, but it is expected in early 2027.
