Voting opens in 2026 Comedians' Choice Awards
Edinburgh Fringe accolades
Voting has opened for this year’s Comedians’ Choice Awards, the Edinburgh Fringe prizes decided entirely by comedians.
The awards, run by British Comedy Guide and London’s Angel Comedy Club, cover three categories: best show, best newcomer and best person, which goes to whoever comedians feel deserves recognition for their contribution to the festival.
Every comedy show at the Fringe can vote and can be voted for. There is no judging panel or industry specialists involved — the winners are chosen solely by their fellow performers.
The awards were set up by comedian and Angel Comedy founder Barry Ferns in 2014. Past winners of best show include Mat Ewins, Julia Masli, Joz Norris, Elf Lyons, Bec Hill and Alison Spittle.
All three winners will receive a trophy, and the best show and best newcomer winners will also be offered a London transfer to the Bill Murray, a week of free rehearsal space there, a preview show ahead of their next Fringe run, and £500 towards a PR package with Flick Morris PR.
Winners are not obliged to accept the prizes, but there is no cash alternative.
Vote here. A shortlist will be announced on August 24, and voting closes at 11.59pm on August 25, with the winners revealed at a ceremony at the Three Sisters at 4.30pm on August 26.
