Filming starts on Here We Go season 4

'The best series yet' says creator Tom Basden

Filming has got under way for the fourth series of BBC family sitcom Here We Go.

The full ensemble cast is returning for the six new episodes including Jim Howick, Katherine Parkinson, Alison Steadman and series creator Tom Basden.

Basden said: ‘Working with such an incredible comedy cast is a pleasure and a privilege so I’m thrilled to be bringing Here We Go back to the BBC for a fourth time.

‘We’ve only just started shooting but it’s already shaping up to be the best series yet!’

The BBC says the new series sees the Jessop family encounter love, loss, jealousy, a graduation, a birthday party, a surprise snail allergy and an eventful fun run (pictured).

Rachel (Parkinson) is graduating and taking her first steps, in political protest. Paul (Howick) continues to struggle on as an undervalued policeman and also turns his hand to some messy painting and decorating, while Robin (Basden) continues his entrepreneurial campaign planning to impress Dragons’ Den while also buying a property he knows very little about.

Meanwhile Cherry (Tori Allen-Martin) is trying her best to juggle raising baby Atlas while practicing her newfound make-up artist skills. Amy (Freya Parks) is looking for a fresh start, a job and some kind of escape from the rest of her family while Sue (Steadman) is having trouble sleeping but manages to find time to make a lethal home-brew. Sam (Jude Morgan-Collie) is there to capture the  disasters in close-up.

News of the fourth series originally broke in April last year.
