Punter mixes up Wozniak and Wazowski

One punter did not get what they expected when they went to watch Mike Wozniak’s latest tour.

Because they apparently confused the comedian with a one-eyed green monster from the Monsters, Inc franchise.

The mix-up was revealed by a listener to Three Bean Salad, the podcast the Taskmaster favourite hosts with Henry Paker and Benjamin Partridge.

Partridge read out the letter from a fan called Laura who had attended his tour gig, called  The Bench, at the Oxford Playhouse in April.

She wrote: ‘My husband and I were sat on the second row, and while waiting for the show to begin, we noticed a woman sat in front of us who appeared to be slightly confused. 

‘Catching a flash of green from her phone screen, we saw she'd just googled the words "Mike Wazowski". She was  scrolling through pages and pages of pictures of Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc. 

‘She tried adding the words "The Bench" after the name and continued to scroll through more pictures of Mike Wazowski.

‘Now, I'm not saying she was absolutely expecting a one-eyed green monster to be doing a stand-up show. Yeah. But I will say that she didn't return after the interval.’

The trio were dumbfounded by what the audience member had expected. 

Wozniak said:  ‘Wow, that's extraordinary. Amazing. There’s not much you could do about that, I don't think. 

He also joked that Wozniak was a ‘stage name. It's not my real name. It's purely to lure people in in the hope that they see someone from Monsters, Inc’ before adding: ‘The Pixar people are already after me legally…’

He has just extended his tour (Mike Wozniak tour dates), while Wazowski can be seen hosting the Monsters, Inc Laugh Floor at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Pixar is said to be developing a third film in the Monsters, Inc franchise,  nearly 25 years after the original.
