Talking about Monty Python and the Holy Grail
John Cleese has announced a UK tour built around screenings of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Each show will begin with an introduction from Cleese, followed by a showing of the film then a 45-minute Q&A in which he will take questions from the audience as well as a local interviewer.
The tour marks more than 50 years since the film was first released in 1975.
Cleese said: ‘I’m delighted to be celebrating more than 50 years of Holy Grail with these incredible live events around the country…mainly because I genuinely never expected either the film or myself to last this long.’
Promoters Phil McIntyre say: ‘During the discussions, Cleese will reflect on the making of the film, the legacy of Monty Python…and whatever else he can still remember.’
The 18-date tour opens at the Anvil in Basingstoke on September 1 and closes at Leeds Grand Theatre on September 22. Tickets went on sale at 10am today.
