The BBC heads back to Amandaland

Series three announced

Amandaland will be back for a third series, it was announced at the BBC comedy festival in Liverpool today.

The news comes as the second series just launched to rave reviews and follows the 2025 Christmas special, which was the most-watched comedy episode of the year, with an audience of 7.4 million across 28 days.

Overall, the series starring Lucy Punch, Joanna Lumley and Philippa Dunne, averages an audience of 6.6 million per episode.  The show also won best scripted comedy at the Baftas at the weekend.

Co-writers Holly Walsh and Laurence Rickard said in a statement: ‘We are thrilled to be heading back to SoHa for a third series of Amandaland and delighted the show has found the sort of audience that Amanda’s Instagram account could only dream of.

‘We are already priming our keyboards to prompt AI into creating another batch of scripts and can’t wait to be reunited with our incredible cast and crew.’

Ordering six new half-hour episodes, BBC comedy commissioning editor Seb Barwell said: ‘Amanda and friends continue to capture the hearts of the nation, so we’re delighted to announce a third series and to keep up our 'co-lab' with this amazing team.’
