...referencing her terrible performances on TV quiz shows

Lucy Beaumont has announced a major tour – referencing just how badly she has performed on TV quiz shows.

The comic’s disastrous appearances on Celebrity Mastermind and The Wheel have informed the title of her second tour: Bad At Quiz Shows, Good With Weirdos

On an episode of Celebrity Mastermind which went out on Christmas Eve Beaumont scored just two points on her specialist subject, Les Dawson, and five more in the general knowledge section.

Putting her performance down to ‘forgetting to revise’, she failed to identify that Dawson hosted Blankety Blank and passed on six questions, and in the general knowledge round she fumbled questions including: ‘What’s the first line of the traditional nursery rhyme that continues "its fleece was white as snow"?’

She has appeared a number of times on Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel, costing contestants tens of thousands of pounds.  After losing  a cancer survivor £79,000 last summer she even offered to put on a charity gig to help make back some of the cash.

Publicity for Beaumont’s new tour says such appearances ‘generally confirmed she’s terrible at quiz shows, so she’s sticking with what she does best… stand-up.’

The tour promises to cover her other TV appearances, too, including Celebrity Traitors and The Great British Sewing Bee.

It runs for more than 60 dates, kicking off in Scunthorpe on September 23.
