Fatiha El-Ghorri announces her first tour
11 dates for Taskmaster star
Fatiha El-Ghorri has announced her debut stand-up show with 11 UK dates this spring
The 44-year-old Hackney-born comedian, who became a breakout star on the 19th series of Taskmaster will perform Cockney Stacking Doll from April 25 to June 7.
She said: 'When I first started doing comedy, I really never thought this would be on the cards. The fact I'm about to head out on my first ever stand-up tour around the UK is absolutely wild, really exciting and – I won't lie – a little bit scary.'
The news comes as her radio pilot, A Match Made Inshallah, about her search for love, airs on BBC Radio 4 on February 14 while her debut novel, The Perks of My Hijab, will be published in August.
El-Ghorri’s tour will include two family-friendlly matinee performances in Brighton (May 2) and Manchester (June 7) suitable for ages 12 and over, with no swearing or adult themes.
The comedian, a twice-divorced Muslim who wears a hijab, has also appeared in the Bafta-winning comedy Mr Bigstuff, Live at the Apollo, QI, The Last Leg and The Jonathan Ross Show. She won best debut show at the 2023 Leicester Comedy Festival for her work-in-progress version of Cockney Stacking Doll
