FATHER FIGURING WITH Darren Harriott: In this new five-part series, the stand-up examines the topic of fatherhood, starting with a look at his own family – shaped by his dad’s death by suicide in prison, when Darren was just 11. At 37, the comic is now two years older than his father was when he died, which has caused him to reflect on the role of fathers, even though he’s not yet a parent himself. Radio 4, 1.45pm

TOM AND LAUREN ARE GOING OOT: A return of the radio comedy starring Lauren Pattison and Tom Machel as a Geordie couple who struggle to leave the house in the 15-minute duration of the show. JOHN CLEESE PACKS IT IN: This documentary, out in cinemas today, follows the Fawlty Towers and Monty Python legend on tour at the age of 85, looking back on his career as well as 'battling various ailments, chaotic travel and his own stubborn refusal to stop' while on the road.
