Patrick Monahan to star in a panto written by ChatGPT
Artificial intelligence show in Brighton
Patrick Monahan is to star in a pantomime written by artificial intelligence.
The comic – and panto veteran – heads the cast of a traditonal show at the Brighton Komedia that will feature a fresh script created by Chat GPT each night.
Audience members at the family-friendly will be asked for suggestions of what to incorporate into the AI model – as in an improv show.
The result will then be performed exactly as written, with producers LP Creatives saying: ‘This production promises laughter, surprises, a bit of chaos, and a lot of insight into the technology shaping our future.’
Allison Ferns – who hosts the BBC Sussex weekend breakfast show – will be the Fairy and Sally Vate – the mumsy, northern drag alter-ego of local performer Jon Hughes – will be the dame.
It will be performed on January 17 and 18, with an evening adult-only show on the Sunday.
Monahan has several pantos under his belt, and will this year play Simon Trott in Jack and The Beanstalk at the Winding Wheel Theatre in Chesterfield.
