Chris McCausland lands his biggest Strictly score yet

...including two perfect 10s

Judges awarded Chris McCausland 37 points on tonight's Strictly Come Dancing, his highest score yet on the show.

The comedian's dance partner Dianne Buswell  was weeping when the score was announced, which included two perfect 10s.

It came despite the pair being in the 'kiss of death' opening slot on the Blackpool dancefloor, performing an American smooth to a swinging big-band cover of the 80s Van Halen anthem Jump.

They later learned they were the  100th couple to perform on Strictly at Blackpool.

Head judge Shirley Ballas gave the first of the 10s, telling the comic he had the 'best feet I’ve seen in a long time, [you] floated across the floor, did not miss a beat, phenomenal'.

Also awarding 10. Anton Du Beke praisd their 'exemplary seamless movement', and Motsi, giving a 9,  concludes "a beautiful statement to open the show"

Craig Revel Horwood has some criticism, saying the blind comic was 'slightly ahead of the beat and arm extensions need finesse, lacked swing or sway' but before awarding his 8, he added: 'Your frame has improved beyond compare, brilliant.'

The impressive score left the couple third out of the eight pairs still remaining in this week's leaderboard.
