Comedy Central orders six more episodes

Comedy Central has ordered a second series of Drunk History: Black Stories. 

DJ Julie Adenuga will be narrating the new episodes taking over from rapper, producer, and director Rapman

Comedian Sophie Duker will be among those lending their voices to the show, alongside Big Shaq (Michael Dappah), Darkwah, Kojey Radical, Marvin Abbey, Tolly T and Zeze Mills.

The stories will originally drop as six ten-minute episodes   on Comedy Central’s digital channels on October 16, then re-edited as three 22-minute specials to air on TV from November 9.

Series one – which featured the likes of Mary Seacole and the Benin Bronzes – was named best short-form format at last year’s Broadcast Awards.

Originally a US creation, the British  version of Drunk Histories ran for three series on Comedy Central’s TV channel from 2015 to 2017, narrated by Jimmy Carr, before the digital spin-off.

Comedy Central has also announced that airing the sketches from series two of Nigel Ng’s East Mode. The skits - also featuring the likes of Jemma Moore, Kuan-Wen Huang, Ria Lina, Andreas Valls and Ed Jones – have been dropping online over the past month and have now been compiled into a single  22-minute episode, which will be broadcast on TV on October 4.

Drunk History: Black Stories is made by FAN Studios with executive producers Femi Oyeniran, Nicky ‘Slimting’ Walker,  Collins Harris and Rebecca Hewett-Farmer.
