Mr Swallow goes to New York

Nick Mohammed is to introduce Americans to his irritating alter-ego Mr Swallow.

The comedian and Ted Lasso star is to make his US stage debut at New York’s Town Hall on Friday, with a one-off performance as his intense character.

In a statement, he said: ‘I honestly can’t wait to unleash Mr. Swallow on US audiences.

‘Frankly, the character is a bit of a nightmare, so this one-off show could go one of three ways – two of which don’t even bear thinking about!

‘But in all seriousness, it’ll be an absolute honour to play New York’s wonderful Town Hall – I couldn’t be more excited and terrified.’

It was also announced this week that Mohammed will be performing a one-off of The Very Best & Worst of Mr. Swallow at the Pleasance Grand during the Edinburgh Fringe,

Mohammed is also the writer and star – with David Schwimmer – of the TV comedy Intelligence, which is  screened on Peacock in the US. He will next be seen in the upcoming feature film Maggie Moore(s) with Tina Fey and Jon Hamm.
