Mother Goose also stars Mel Giedroyc
John Bishop is to star in panto alongside Sir Ian McKellen.
The comedian will play Vic, the husband of McKellen’s Mother Goose in the show of the same name when it tours the UK from December to March.
In the updated telling of the story – written by Gimme, Gimme, Gimme creator Jonathan Harvey – the couple live a wholesome life inside an abandoned Debenhams, running an animal sanctuary.
Until one day a magical goose – played by Mel Giedroyc turns up, promising to turn their world upside-down.
The family-friendly panto is being directed by Cal McCrystal, whose previous work includes One Man, Two Guvnors.
