Tribute gig for Lynn Ruth Miller

On what would have been her 88th birthday

Comedians and cabaret performers are to pay tribute to Lynn Ruth Miller with a gig on what would have been her 88th birthday.

The British-based American – who laid claim to being the oldest female comedian in the world – died last week, prompting tributes from fans and colleagues across the globe.

Now a memorial cabaret and burlesque show is to be staged in one of her favourite venues – with money going to her favourite charities.

Paulus The Cabaret Geek will be hosting the show at the Phoenix Artists’ Club in Central London On October 11, with a line-up featuring  Desmond O’Connor, Dusty Limits, Kiki Lovechild, Ada Campe, Ivy Paige, Belle de Beauvoir, Steve Gibson, Josephine Lacey and more.

The venue said: ‘We love her and we miss her and we know she would want us to celebrate in song and raise a glass to her memory on her birthday.’

Proceeds from the £25-a-head tickets - which are available here -  will be split evenly between St Joseph’s Hospice, who looked after Miller towards the end of her life and  the charity Cabaret vs Cancer. The show will also be streamed for those unable to attend the intimate venue.

Plans are also afoot for a display of Miller’s artwork in London plus an online archive of her body of work.
