Monday June 7

LONDON: Mark Thomas presents his new show, 50 Things About Us, at the Soho Theatre all week. A look at national identity and history, it's described as ‘a sort of funny national edition of Who Do You Think You Are?’. ‘It’s another slightly odd show, a sort of sweary, History Channel with laughs and creative mischief,' the comic says.

Wednesday June 9

LONDON: British-based New Yorker Janine Harouni is performing her accomplished debut show at the Soho Theatre several times this week. But for those in the know - which now includes you - she’s also doing several pay-what-you-want gigs at the  intimate Top Secret Comedy Club in nearby Covent Garden, starting tonight. Here are both sets of dates.

Thursday June 10

NEWCASTLE:There’s a great bill as comedy returns to the Wylam Brewery in the Palace of Arts Exhibition Park. Reginald D Hunter headlines a strong bill that also boasts local lass Lauren Pattison, Britain’s Got Talent’s Steve Royle and Jason Cook, who writes the Gold murder-mysteries starring Johnny Vegas, as MC.

HALIFAX: The Victoria Theatre hosts two upbeat comics with substance behind their geniality - Justin Moorhouse and Tez Ilyas - at a gig hosted by Tony Vino.

Friday June 11

GLASGOW: After 15 long months, the relaxation of Covid restrictions to level two allows the Glee club to reopen tonight - albeit with two-metre distancing. The opening weekend features JoJo Sutherland, Ray Bradshaw, Joe Heenan and Janey Godley.

Saturday June 12

LONDON: It’s Phil Wang’s turn to record his special tonight - this one for Netflix, and at the London Palladium, no less. Tickets available here.
