...with Horne interviewing old pal Tim Key

Alex Horne and Daliso Chaponda have joined the Chortle comedy book festival line-up.

Taskmaster creator Horne will be appearing tonight, talking to his old friend Tim Key.

The pair met at Cambridge, where Key had snuck on to the Footlights comedy team despite not being a student there.

They will be meeting in person to talk about Key’s forthcoming comedy collection He Used Thought As A Wife from 5pm today. The anthology is based on things he said in conversations, on Zoom or even ‘yelling in the street’,

Tickets to the event are available here, priced £8.14 including fees

Meanwhile, former Britain’s Got Talent finalist Daliso Chaponda is replacing Gary Delaney, who has had to cancel his session at 9pm tomorrow because of unforeseen circumstances.

Chaponda  has appeared on QI, The News Quiz and The Now Show and his own Radio 4 show Citizen of Nowhere – while his stand-up has attracted more than 300 million views online.

In addition to comedy, Daliso is a prolific fiction writer who has published science fiction, murder mysteries and fantasy fiction.

In tomorrow’s interview with fellow stand-up and Radio 4 regular Athena Kugblenu, he talks about his career, his writing and  the books that have got him through lockdown…
