Acting role for Borat 2 babysitter Jeanise Jones
Satirical movie from ex-South Park writer Jane Bussmann
Borat 2’s unexpected star Jeanise Jones is to play an angel in a new satirical film.
Jones was the babysitter hired to look after the Kazakh journalist’s 15-year-old daughter Tutar in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.
Last week it was revealed she was paid just $3,600 for her pivotal appearance after being led to believe she was appearing in a documentary, prompting Sacha Baron Cohen to donate $100,000 to her Oklahoma church.
Now Jones will get an acting role of her own, playing God’s right-hand angel in Reincarnated Royal, which has been penned by former South Park writer Jane Bussmann and war zone filmmaker Naisola Grimwood.
Both are tight-lipped about the storyline, but say Jones’s character will be a warm heart.
‘It's going to be a very entertaining movie,’ Jones said. ‘I know the world thinks I have this angel thing in the bag, but it's going to be very challenging playing the role. I hope the Queen of England thinks I'm an angel, 'cause I don't want to get taken out.’
Bussmann said: ‘Like everyone else, we were tears at Jeanise's appearance in the searing documentary Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, where she inspired Borat's daughter Tutar to become Kazakhstan's leading feminist, and gave hope to other 15-year-old spinsters.’
According to the writers, the comedy will target ‘high-profile figures including self-proclaimed "mentors" of teenage girls and a certain prime CEO’. The latter could be seen as a reference to Jeff Bezos, whose Amazon Prime is streaming the Borat film.
Bussman added: ‘People don’t have words for what they are seeing on the news other than WTF, is Doctor Evil back? Spin-doctors can't be bothered to hide anything any more. There's zero justice, so we thought we'd have some fun..
‘We set out to write something sensible about the pandemic, but we kept testing it in front of live audiences and shit just escalated.’
Grimwood, who produced the Doctors Without Borders documentary Living in Emergency added: We're done with depressing stuff. People are really hurting right now and we want someone to be punished. Vigorously.’
Bussmann’s other writing credits include Brass Eye, Smack The Pony and Crackanory – while she also uncovered the real-life horrors of sex trafficking in Uganda in her satirical non-fiction book The Worst Date Ever.
Reincarnated Royal will be filmed in Calgary, Alberta, next year, produced by Canadian marketing guru Abagail Vanmerlin.
The all-female team met while at the clown school of Philippe Gaulier, who trained Sacha Baron Cohen, Emma Thompson and Helena Bonham Carter.
