The pick of the week's live comedy

Gigs are taking place outdoors and, tentatively, indoors from this week, adhering to social distancing guidelines. Here's our pick

Sunday July 26

LONDON Quirky musical comedy siblings Flo and Joan kick off a series of gigs in the courtyard of the Battersea Arts Centre, with performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Click here for the full listings of the outdoor festival, which runs until August 9.

Tuesday July 28

BRISTOL: There are a couple of comedy provocateurs on the bill in the courtyard of the Lakota nightclub in the form of Fern Brady and Alfie Brown. The clubbable Stuart Goldsmith, host of the Comedian’s Comedian podcast and Infinite Sofa online talk show, comperes.

Wednesday July 29

MANCHESTER: The Frog and Bucket is piloting the UK’s first indoor stand-up gig since lockdown was imposed four months ago - a test to see how it could work with social distancing. Barbara Nice, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, pictured,  Shazia Mirza and Ola Labib are on the bill, which is in aid of the Women in Comedy Festival.

BOURNE: Alistair Barrie, Anthony King and Rob Coleman play a ‘giggles in the garden’ gig at The Willow Tree gastropub in Cambridgeshire tonight.

Thursday July 30

NOTTINGHAM: Just The Tonic is staging the second government-sanctioned trial gig, with finely-tuned Mock The Week regular Ed Byrne headlining a line-up that also includes Daisy Earl, Scott Bennett and Quincy.

BLENHEIM PALACE: Very la-di-da! Churchill’s Oxfordshire birthplace plays host to Jayde Adams, Michael Odewale, Jacob Hawley, Olga Koch and Rich Wilson as part of its Picnic at the Palace series tonight.

Friday 31 July

LONDON: Mark Watson's Carpool Comedy Club parks its stage at Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park ground, with a bill that includes Jen Brister with her commentary on life and parenthood. Get tickets for the drive-in show here
