Full cast announced for new BBC comedy

Comedians Mark Silcox, Michael Spicer  and Jackie Clune have joined the case of Diane Morgan's BBC Two comedy Mandy.

The Philomena Cunk and Motherland star takes the title role of a woman living hand-to-mouth in the gig economy as well as writing and directing the series.

Now the BBC has confirmed the full cast.

Other regulars will  include Alistair Green, Emily Dean, Masashi Fujimoto, Akemnji Ndifornyen,  Iain Lee and Tony Way.

While guest stars include Tom Basden, David Bradley, Natalie Cassidy, Sean Lock  and Maxine Peake.

As previously announced, After Life and Code 404 actor  Michelle Greenidge will play Lola, Mandy’s friend and confidante in the local nail bar.

Six 15-minute episodes have been commissioned following the success of a pilot made as an iPlayer Comedy Short last year, which was Morgan's directorial debut.

The series is due to launch on BBC Two next month.

Shane Allen, the BBC's controller of comedy commissioning has previously said of the show: 'Diane has terrific funny bones and as creator and director of Mandy she goes for the comedy jugular at every opportunity.'
