Lenny Henry writes a diversity manifesto

New book to be published next year

Sir Lenny Henry is writing a manifesto about tackling the lack of diversity in TV.

The comedian has teamed up with TV executive Marcus Ryder, and acting chair of Sir Lenny’s Centre for Media Diversity, to put together Access All Areas: The Diversity Manifesto For TV And Beyond.

Sir Lenny said: ‘This book is the culmination of many curries, coffees and heated debates.

‘Marcus and I go way back with the Diversity issue—this book is a deep dive into our thinking, our history and also, perhaps, a road map to a more level playing field.’

Publisher Walter Donohue, from Faber, told trade website The Bookseller: ‘At this seminal moment, where we’ve seen a reckoning with racism and injustice, Faber is honoured to continue its relationship with Lenny Henry on a struggle with which he has been involved for the past seven years.’

Faber published Henry's autobiography Who Am I, Again? last year.

Access All Areas will be published on January 7.
