Rosie & Chris Ramsey bid for live podcast record

Duo to play 11,000-seater arena

Rosie and Chris Ramsey are set to break the record for the biggest live podcast with their show  Shagged. Married. Annoyed.

The couple have announced an eight-night tour of the show, including a hometown date at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena – which has a maximum capacity of 11,000.

Guinness does not list an official record for the biggest live podcast, but previously My Dad Wrote A Porno and Guilty Feminist have played the 5,200-capacity Royal Albert Hall in London.

Launched early last year, Shagged. Married. Annoyed. has been downloaded a total of 18 million times so far. Like the recordings, the live shows – which come during a hiatus in Chris’s 20/20 stand-up tour – will feature the couple talking about relationships, arguments, annoyances, parenting, growing up and more

Chris – who reached the semi-finals of Strictly Come Dancing last year – said: ‘We are absolutely over the moon that people enjoy listening to us talk nonsense, so we thought why not let them watch us talk nonsense. It’ll be a joy to take it out of our house and into such wonderful venues, but mainly, it’ll be a nice change not recording it on a table covered in bits of that day’s breakfast.’

Rosie added: ‘For years I’ve stayed at home while Chris went out on tour, and now I get to go along with him... still not sure how happy he is about this. I’m mainly looking forward to a few nights away. Like a little holiday.’

The dates are

Thursday September 3: Birmingham Alexander Theatre
Friday September 4: Manchester Opera House
Saturday September 12: Newcastle Utilita Arena
Thursday September 17: Edinburgh Playhouse
Friday September 18: Glasgow Theatre Royal
Tuesday September 22: Nottingham Playhouse
Wednesday September 23: York Barbican
Sunday September 27: London Adelphi

Tickets will be available from 10am tomorrow.
