The Shrine now in development

Katherine Ryan is piloting a new TV show based around the worship of celebrities.

Set in a church, The Shrine is described as  ‘a topical devotion that worships everyone’s favourite cult… celebrity’.

According to producers: ‘This fast-paced format includes comedy, discussion, audience participation, social media shakeups, debate and experts to help us get closer to our celebrity idols’

The idea is currently under development and it is not know which, if any, broadcaster is attached

However, programme-makers are having a run-through in front of a live studio audience at a venue in Peckham, South London, on December 15. Free tickets to that event are available here.
