Mel and Sue reveal their Hitmen co-stars

Including Nick Mohammed, Sian Clifford, Asim Chaudhry  and Jason Watkins

Nick Mohammed, Fleabag’s Sian Clifford and Chabuddy G star Asim Chaudhry  a have joined the cast of Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins’s new comedy Hitmen.

Also appearing are Jason Watkins – the W1A star who plays Harold Wilson in the current series of The Crown – Sophia Di Martino

 from Channel 4’s Flowers, and Phoneshop star Andrew Brooke.

In the series, which will air on Sky One in the spring, Mel and Sue play  best friends trying to make their way in the world with only each other to rely on – while working as assassins.

The pair revealed their co-stars in a video for Radio Times,  also namechecking  Doctors star Stephen Boxer, Bulletproof’s Jason Maza, Taboo’s Leo Bill and lesser-known actors Tonya Cornelisse, Anthony Adjekum, and Gavin Spokes.

What roles each are playing in the six-part series have yet to be revealed. 

Morwenna Gordon, the commissioning editor for Sky Comedy, said: ‘We are thrilled to have Mel and Sue back on our screens, in their first ever scripted comedy series. 

‘We have a brilliant cast, featuring many well-known faces, in a number of unexpected and potentially life-threatening circumstances that Fran and Jamie find themselves in along the way. 

‘[Writers] Joe Parham and Joe Markham have created a world that’s ruthless, funny and heart-warming all at the same time.’

The writers said in a statement: ‘We can’t believe that something which has been knocking around inside our heads for so long has been brought to life by two of the funniest people in the country, along with a load of our other comedy heroes.’
