Chris Ramsey survives to dance another week

Comic even avoids the dreaded dance-off

Chris Ramsey has survived another week on strictly - despite coming second from bottom on the leaderboard last night.

He and pro partner Karen Hauer were saved by viewer votes and did not even have to take part in the dance-off.

BBC Breakfast presenter Mike Bushell and his partner Katya Jones took on US singer Michelle Visage and Giovanni Pernice.

And Bushell  ended up going home after a run of close shaves, including coming bottom on judge's scores on Saturday, with 25.

That was one more than Ramsey, who had ditched his usual goofiness to play things straight doing the tango to the Destiny's Child classic Survivor.

But although the comedian admitted he was 'out of his comfort zone', he was not reward with a surfeit of points.

Nevertheless, judges were positive in their comments. Motsi Mabuse said: '"I felt the intensity and I love the serious Chris, but footwork could have been a little cleaner.'

Shirley Ballas declared: 'The thing I admired the most is that focus. I found the footwork to be fairly decent.'

Whole Bruno Tolioni gushed: 'I really appreciated the prupose and intent' and adding that it was a 'very good effort.'

But sourpuss Craig Reveal Horwood added: 'You seriously need to up your game. Technically, it was a complete disaster. Loved last week, hated this week, sorry.'
