Matt Lucas and David Walliams reunite for Brexit special

Matt Lucas and David Walliams are reuniting after more than a decade to bring Little Britain back.

The pair are making a new Brexit-themed special episode for  Radio 4 – where their sketch show was first broadcast in 2000.

The episode called Little Brexit, will broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Thursday – the day Britain would leave the EU if Boris Johnson had his way.

The BBC says: 'The programme will catch-up with many of Matt and David’s much-loved characters to see how the hottest topic of modern British history is affecting their lives. Characters we’ll be hearing from include Dafydd, Vicky Pollard, Emily Howard, Marjorie Dawes, Mr Mann, and Lou and Andy.'

Original cast members Ruth Jones and Anthony Head, as well as narrator Tom Baker, will also be in the special episode.

Sioned Wiliam, commissioning editor for Radio 4 comedy said: 'Matt Lucas and David Walliams are uniquely talented writers and performers as well as one of the UK’s most loved comedy duos. It’s a privilege to have them back on Radio 4, where Little Britain first began almost 20 years ago.'

Little Britain ran on Radio 4 until 2002 before transferring to BBC Three and then BBC One. Ultimately 36 episodes were made, ending in 2007.

Lucas and David Walliams  then made the airport-based show Come Fly With Me, which ran for one series in  2010.

• Little Brexit will air at 6.30pm on Thurdsay October 31 on Radio 4.
