Union Jack radio to broadcast from the Edinburgh Fringe

New nightly comedy show

Digital radio station Union Jack is to air a nightly show from the Edinburgh Fringe, it has been announced.

On The Mic will feature interviews with four comedians from the festival, with clips from their shows.

It will be broadcast from 9pm to 10pm nightly from August 2 to 26, and hosted by former Broadway Baby comedy editor Martin Walker, pictured.

More than100 comedians  have been lined up to appear including Basil Brush, Steve N Allen, Nick Helm and Simon Munnery.

Giles Gear, programme manager at Union Jack radio, said: "Very few people would be able to take a month out to pop to the Fringe and soak up the incredible comedy. So we’re bottling the atmosphere of the world’s largest arts festival and bringing some of the very best names in British comedy to our audience, every night.’

According to the latest official Rajar figures, Union Jack reaches 150,000 listeners a week via digital radio, online or via its app.
