New BBC Scotland series for Mark Nelson

Looking at social media

Mark Nelson is making a new TV series for BBC Scotland based on social media.

In each of the six episodes of Bad Influencer, the comic will be joined by two comedy guests to look at the funniest posts of the week.

Nelson is already active online, regularly making shorts for the broadcaster. Two years ago his then three-year-old daughter Isla won a Scottish Comedy Award for the topical videos shot with her dad.

Paul Murray, executive producer with programme-makers Mentorn Scotland said: 'Bad Influencer is a cheeky take on the world around us and how we interact with it.’

No broadcast date for the half-hour episodes – which were commissioned by BBC Scotland’s Gavin Smith – has yet been announced.
