Flight of the Conchords star to play a marine biologisy

Jemaine Clement has landed a major role in the Avatar sequels.

The  Flight Of The Conchords star who also co-created the vampire houseshare comedy What We Do in the Shadows, will play marine biologist Dr. Ian Garvin.

Director James Cameron said: ‘I’ve loved Jemaine’s work for years and I’m really pumped that he’s joining our cast as Ian Garvin, one of my favourite character.

Four sequels are in production with the first two out in December 2021 and December 2023.

What We Do in the Shadows, which starts on BBC Two this Sunday, has just been picked up for a second season in the States.

 Jemaine writes and executive produces the series, which is based on the 2014 film he directed with Taika Waititi, in addition to directing most of the episodes.
