Alan Carr pilots cinema panel show

There's Something About Movies being developed for Sky 1

Alan Carr is to piloting new panel show about cinema for Sky 1.

Actors and comedians will be quizzed on their film trivia in the show, which is entitled There's Something About Movies.

A pilot is to be shot by CPL Productions, the company behind A League Of Their Own, at Pinewood Studios this week.

CPL also made Alan Carr's Christmas Cracker for Channel 4 last year.

The comedian previously piloted a panel show about TV for Sky One; The Remote Controller – a format co-created by Harry Hill in which contestants pitched their own ideas for TV shows in a  Dragon's Den-style scenario; the karaoke show  Singalong for ITV, as well as revivals of  both The Price Is Right and Play Your Cards Right.

His last gameshow, I Don't Like Mondays, proved a ratings flop for Channel 4, attracting half the usual audience for its 8pm slot.
