Accolade for Edinburgh Fringe show

Tania Edwards has been named winner of this year’s Amused Moose Comedy Award.

The award was handed out at the Edinburgh Fringe after all nominees performed ten minutes from their festival shows at the live final.

Her show, Not My Dog, is described as ‘a hilariously dark exploration of modern life and our need to (mis)represent it’.

The separate award for Outstanding Fringe Show went to the fast-paced multi-character show Police Cops In Space

While British-based Australian stand-up Damian Clark was named People's Champion.

There is no cash prize associated with the award, but the kudos of joining previous winners including Tony Law, Marcel Lucont, Celia Pacquola and Richard Gadd.

The other finalists were Anesti Danelis: Songs For A New World Order, Ken Cheng: Best Dad Ever, Look, It's Tom Little, Alright?, Laura Lexx: Trying and Liam Withnail: Homeboy.

Earlier in the month, Maisie Adam won the Amused Moose award for best new comedian.
