New project for Netflix

Will Ferrell is to make a comedy movie based around the Eurovision Song Contest. 

Details of the project are sparse, but Deadline reports that it will be for Netflix.

And it will be executive produced by his long-time collaborator  Adam McKay through their company Gary Sanchez Productions.

McKay directed Ferrell in Anchorman, Talladega Nights, and Step Brothers.

Ferrell was spotted around this year’s competition in Lisbon, meeting some of the contestants.  And earlier this year, he said he’d been a big fan of Eurovision since 1999, when his Swedish wife Viveca Paulin introduced him to the event.
