Katherine Ryan to announce West End run

Glitter Room plays the Garrick for two weeks

Katherine Ryan is to announce a West End run today.

The comedian will perform her latest show, Glitter Room, at the Garrick Theatre for two weeks from September 18.

Her last show, Kathbum, was shot for Netflix, where it was retitled In Trouble. Its release last year made her only the second British-based comedian after her Your Face Or Mine co-host Jimmy Carr to have an original comedy special released globally by the streaming giant. She is currently writing a scripted project for the broadcaster.

And next month she will return to her native Canada to host The Stand-Up Show With Katherine Ryan, with eight episodes being taped for Canada’s The Comedy Network at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal.

She also recently became the first woman to host Channel 4's 8 Out Of Cats Down Countdown, taking the chair for a special episode to commemorate women’s suffrage that will air later this year.

The West End run of Glitter Room, produced by Live Nation. follows an eight-month tour of the show which ended in April. Read Chortle’s review here

Tickets will go on sale from 10am on Friday.

Ryan is not the only comedian with a West End run this autumn. Mo Gilligan will have a six-night run of his show at the Vaudeville Theatre from October 22, immediately followed by James Acaster presenting his new show, Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999, at the same venue.

Tickets for Gilligan and Acaster are available here.
