Asking 'what if..' history was different?

Radio 2 is piloting a new comedy panel show inviting guests to imagine alternative versions of history.

To be hosted by Sara Cox, a one-off episode of What  If…? is being recorded in London next  week, for broadcast in a 10pm slot some time in April.

Producers describe it as ‘a comedy show version of the Gwyneth Paltrow movie Sliding Doors’. Typical questions might be: ‘What if Brian Cox had stayed playing keyboards with D:Ream?’, ‘What if Jeremy Clarkson had never passed his driving test?’ Or ‘What if Pippa Middleton had married Prince Harry?'

Taking part in the pilot are comedian Grainne Maguire, science broadcaster Dr Adam Rutherford and Rylan Clark-Neal, the X Factor contestant turned TV presenter.

What If…? is being recorded at the Museum of Comedy in Central London on March 6. Click here to apply for free tickets to be in the audience.
